Christine, Mom, Grandma, Daughter, sister and wife

If all the skies were sunshine
Our faces would be fain
To feel once more upon them
The cooling splash of rain.
If all the world were music,
Our hearts would often long
For one sweet strain of silence,
To break the endless song.
If life were always merry,
Our souls would seek relief,
And rest from weary laughter
In the quiet arms of grief.
--Henry Van Dyke--

Sad but true, for us to get anywhere in this life we don't get to float above this terrible grief we have been handed. We have to be in the trenches a lot and find happiness while we are down in those trenches.

I like that, it's very true.. that's almost exactly what it says in the scriptures that this life isn't always full of joy.. but the rewards will always follow if we're faithful.
